We think it’s great we can welcome your family dog during your vacation stay with us here at Grandview of Lake Kabetogama; and hope that you help us out by following a few guidelines while visiting with your pet. We will ask you to sign a pet contract at check in and you may want to bring vet/health documentation in case of emergency.
Leashes Please: Many people love dogs (we do), but we recognize that others may not be so comfortable. So out of respect for all guests here at Grandview Resort and our surrounding neighbors, we require that you have your dog leashed and under your control at all times while on the property.
Cabin Rules: We allow up to two well-behaved dogs per cabin. We ask that you don’t allow your dog up on the furniture, beds or on any of our bedding, please bring their beds for their comfort. Be sure to rinse off sandy/muddy/grassy dog paws before entering cabins and pay special attention to wet dogs by providing them with an area to dry off that won’t cause damage. During your stay, there may be times when you will be out and your dog wants to stay in, we ask that you crate your dog. We do not allow pets to be left free-roaming in the cabin or to be tied up outside while you are away…in the crate or with you are the only options. If your dog is vocal and disturbs others while your are away, you will be notified and may be asked to make alternate arrangements for pet care at a local kennel.
Pet Free Zones: The beach and dock areas can be fun with the family dog, however guests come first! If another guest is fishing from the pier, please do not allow your dog to dive off the dock. If there are guests using the beach area, it is off limits to your dog during that time. We can offer suggestions for play and exercise areas when you are here.
Clean Up: Please clean up behind your dog each time, even in the wooded areas and off property, to maintain our grounds and the natural landscape of Voyageurs National Park. Look for the RED DOG sign, we have a pooper scoopers available for property use and pet waste bags available for your convenience while on the boats, islands or on a local walk. Pet stays require extra attention for our housekeeping staff which is why we have a pet rate at our resort, please help us out by cleaning up any accidents immediately. If you find that you need special cleaning supplies during your stay, let us know.

Maybe you need a break from dog care, we can recommend great area boarding kennels so your dog is still near, but cared for; and can even visit during your stay.

RESORT DOG:
We have a small resort dog named Kabee. Please, NO people food for her (hotdogs and sausage products make her very sick). Since she lives here at the resort, she will be off leash, this is her home. She is not aggressive but is timid with new people.
